Panda Express Raises Money for Local Children’s Hospital

Last month we celebrated Panda Express at Valley Children’s Hospital. In 2019, Panda restaurant locations in the Central Valley raised more than $699,000. This amount made Panda Express our #1 Children’s Miracle Network partner. Out of 2,075 locations nationwide, the Store on Kings Canyon and Peach in Fresno was the #1 fundraising store, raising $48,415.03. WHOHOOO!

Over the past eleven years, Panda has raised more than $2.5 million dollars for Valley Children’s. Their contributions support our Child Life Department. Child Life is dedicated to helping children understand and cope with hospitalization. Child Life Specialists might be seen prepping a child for surgery, coordinating special events, or supporting a family as they walk through grief and bereavement. Their department is not funded in any way by the state or covered by any insurance. However their services are absolutely necessary to help children during the duration of their stay at the hospital.

We are so so grateful for Panda’s partnership and were  thrilled to meet with many of those who collect funds on our behalf little by little each day. At our celebration associates had the opportunity to see “the who and what” that their funds support. We walked the hospital showing them our Oncology Department, Child Life Playroom and Classroom, Rehab Department, and Orthopedics department. Associates also enjoyed spending time with one of our miracle patients, Sariah, and her family. We hope that they left feeling proud of all the support they raised in 2019 and ready to hit 2020 full speed ahead.
