Thanks a Billion, Walmart and Sam’s Club!

Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members around the Central Valley put their money where the miracles are during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising campaign. Donations poured in Aug. 27 to October 7, as 26 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations around the Central Valley held various in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members at the register to help kids live better.

The Central Valley community from Merced to Porterville raised $292,924 for Valley Children’s Hospital. The effort was part of a national campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals which resulted in $36.5 million raised, putting the total raised in the U.S. and Canada since 1987 over the $1 billion mark. Since 1987, Central Valley Walmart and Sam’s Club locations have raised more than $3.8 million dollars for Valley Children’s Hospital.

“We are so fortunate to have a global leader like Walmart and Sam’s Club supporting Valley Children’s Hospital and other children’s hospitals around the country,” said Rob Saroyan, president of Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation. “On behalf of the entire team at Valley Children’s and the patients we serve, thank you to Walmart’s local leadership, associates, and customers for their continued generosity supporting Valley Children’s Hospital.”
