Local Radio Station Raises More Than $100,000 for Valley Children’s Hospital

We are so grateful for the support we received for the annual “KISS Country for Kids” Radiothon. Together, our community raised $102,097!

This year’s 93.7 FM “KISS Country for Kids” Radiothon, September 9-10, 2021, marked the 23rd year of changing kids’ health in our community. Throughout the event’s history, it has been a powerful venue to share stories of hope and healing at Valley Children’s Hospital, and to raise much needed funds to support Valley Children’s continued efforts to serve the more than 1.3 million children in the Central Valley.

Inspirational patient stories and interviews were broadcasted during the two days. Listeners had the opportunity to hear about miracle kids like Joie from Tulare. Joie was 2.5 years old when she was diagnosed with Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) from an infection with E. coli. Joie spent two weeks at Valley Children’s with several nights in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) because she was critically anemic requiring blood transfusions and oxygen. She suffered acute kidney failure, but thankfully made a turnaround before needing dialysis. She is now thriving!

Thank you again, to those who donated. Your generosity allows us to change kids’ health and change the future for kids like Joie.
