Costco’s “Month of Miracles”
In April, local Costco associates and managers visited the hospital to celebrate their outstanding 2023 achievements and see firsthand where their funds go, and to prepare for May’s “Month of Miracles” campaign. In 2023, the eight Central Valley warehouses raised a record-breaking $933,866 that directly funds patient services, equipment and research at Valley Children’s Hospital. During the event, Costco associates heard from our 2024 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion, Davey Jean, and her mom Brittney, who shared Davey Jean’s moving story. Dr. Razzaqi from our Cancer and Blood Disorders Center also spoke to the group about how funds they raise help the families in his care.
May was “Month of Miracles” at Costco and our friends at our eight Central Valley warehouses did an amazing job raising critical funds for Valley Children’s Hospital! Our kid captains and their families visited their local Costco warehouses and had great experiences as they thanked store associates and everyone who donated. Elyse in Modesto, Dayleen in West Fresno, Davey Jean in Clovis, Xavier in Visalia, RJ in Hanford, Mikey in Turlock, Avery in North Fresno and Luca in Merced all received an enthusiastic welcome from their local Costco warehouses!
Walmart: Campaign Kickoff
On May 29, more than 130 employees from 32 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the Central Valley attended the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign kickoff at the hospital. We celebrated Walmart and Sam’s Club incredible achievement of raising a record-breaking total of $537,615 in 2023. The top 2023 fundraising locations in the Central Valley were also recognized during the event. Since 1991, Walmart has raised more than $6.2 million for Valley Children’s.
During the meeting, the associates also heard from our healthcare providers who shared how funds raised go directly to funding critical patient care services and programs. Our 2024 CMN champion, Davey Jean, and her mom, Brittney, shared their heartfelt story and thanked the associates for helping kids like Davey.
The 2024 Walmart and Sam’s Club CMN campaign will be held June 10 to July 7. There will be fun community events, including many car shows, at various Walmart and Sam’s Club locations during the campaign.
