Kiwanis: The Race to Make a Difference!
On Saturday, September 23, 2023, Kiwanis Division 5 hosted the 3rd annual “Run 4 the Miracle” at George’s River Ranch in Fresno. The event offered different race options to accommodate our supporters of all ages! Participants were able to partake in a 1/4-mile fun run for kids, 2-mile walk, 5K or the newly incorporated 10K trail run! All participants received a 2023 edition “Run 4 the Miracle” T-shirt, participant medal and breakfast.
Along with the multiple race options the event also held a silent auction with numerous items up for bid. Included with those auction listings was some newly autographed Derek Carr New Orleans Saints memorabilia!
It was a record-breaking event with more than 160 participants raising $18,798 for Valley Children’s Injury Prevention Program! We would like to extend a big thank you to Kiwanis Division 5 clubs and key clubs, sponsors, runner and volunteers who made this a successful event! We also want to thank Kiwanis CAL-NEV-HA for presenting a grant for $23,197 to help our Injury Prevention Program purchase car seats and reflector flashlights for children and families in need.
Throughout the years, the Kiwanis Club has been an essential partner in the fight against unintentional injury. The funds received have been used to purchase necessary equipment for community events, safety devices and to train staff on how to properly care for trauma patients. The club is an integral supporter of Valley Children’s mission. Its help through various philanthropic efforts is key in allowing us to serve families in the Central Valley.
