Children’s Hospitals Week 2023
The 40th anniversary of Children’s Hospitals Week in Orlando, Florida was an incredible production! Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals have raised over $8 billion in the U.S. and Canada. We are proud to share that Valley Children’s Hospital has been a CMN member since 1990, something we are extremely proud of.
The fun-packed week started off with a wonderful opening celebration. As it should be, our CMN National champions were the stars of the show! These amazing children all shared their story of perseverance and how CMN Hospitals truly changed their lives. This year was even more special for Valley Children’s Hospital as our very own Tyson represented California’s Central Valley! Weighing less than an unopened soda can, born at 24 weeks gestation Tyson has a remarkable story and serves as a true testament for all that CMN does for children and their families.
Throughout the week, several informational sessions were made available to all the attendants. CMN and corporate partner staff shared valuable information and insight into our world of fundraising. The sessions covered a wide range of topics that help prepare teams like ours at Valley Children’s Hospital. The event also allowed for networking with other hospitals, CMN staff and corporate partners. That was a great chance to learn from other markets and share some tips and ideas. Not to mention, Extra Life United took place there as well. Extra Life brings so much fun and excitement!
Certainly, a highlight of the week were the CMN champion panel sessions! Our national champions took to the mic and answered questions of all sorts. It was extremely fun to hear our champions share about themselves and their personal lives. We were extremely proud of these children and grateful to be able to know their stories.
Children’s Hospitals Week was wonderful for various reasons, but undoubtedly the children made it such a magical place to be at that week! The passion demonstrated and shared by award winners gifted us with deeper inspiration to continue to try to change the lives of children in our communities. Thank you, Children’s Miracle Network!
