Costco: Making Miracles in May
We would like to thank Costco, its hardworking employees and generous Costco members for an extraordinarily successful campaign in support of Valley Children’s Hospital. This is a record-breaking year for eight Costco warehouses in the Central Valley, raising $923,989.55 during the month of May — a 15% increase from 2022!
A special thanks to Costco headquarters for their 22% corporate match, and to the Costco Visalia team for their hard work to earn back the #1 highest fundraising warehouse in our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals market.
Since 1990, Costco has contributed more than $8.5 million to support Valley Children’s through a combination of corporate donations and fundraising efforts. Costco is an outstanding CMN Hospitals partner who has consistently been among the 10 largest philanthropic contributors to Valley Children’s every year since 1999. ABC30 Telethon: One Day Wonderful Results
ABC30’s 9th annual “Futures Worth Fighting For” Telethon was held in the hospital rotunda on August 10. From 5 am until 8 pm, volunteers from the hospital staff, the community, and from our amazing event sponsors worked the phones and helped our community donate over $120,035 to Valley Children’s Hospital, surpassing last year’s total by almost $4000 and bringing the 9-year grand total to $1,172,954!

Several heart-warming stories were aired that day about Valley Children’s tiniest patients and our 2023 Children’s Miracle Network Champion, Mac. ABC30 anchors Jessica Harrington and Warren Armstrong spent time with patients, with volunteers at the phone banks, and of course with George. Even one of George’s Pals, a sweet dog named Lady and her handler Dr. Ken Takeshita, came by to be part of the fun.
Members of the Fresno State men’s basketball team came out to volunteer as the contributions continued pouring in toward the later part of the day. Throughout the 15-hour event, volunteers cheered and clapped their giraffe hooves every time a child walked past the telethon. Smiles were contagious and the outpouring of love filled the rotunda.
